2012 Annual show

  • Page last updated: 20 January 2018

The club's 2012 show was held on Saturday 10 November 2012 at our monthly meeting venue in St Mark's. The gates opened to the public at 14:30 and the club welcomed a number of old friends.

Border canaries

178 birds were benched - 43 up on last year (56 up on 2010) and it was a big help that there was no clash of dates with the Dartford club this year. With a notable increase in the foreign bird classes, the following bird types were on show: canary (Border, Fife, Gloster, Norwich, new colour, and Yorkshire), zebra finch, budgerigar, British mules & hybrids, and foreign.

As ever, the tombola and raffle went a long way in limiting the costs of staging the event and even the dreary weather didn't prevent a great turnout and a highly enjoyable day. ‘Best in Show’ went to Richard Hammond with a current-year-bred, blue-consort Gloster, cock canary.

A full list of class winners is set out below this selection of photographs taken on the day.
