Best in their class at the club's 2013 annual show
The club's 2013 show was held on Saturday 09 November 2013 at our monthly meeting venue in St Mark's. The gates opened to the public a little earlier this year at 14:00.
174 birds were benched – keeping the numbers in the 170s for the second year running. The heavy rain saw fewer members of the public than in recent years but, for those who braved the conditions, there were quality birds. Lizard canaries and kararikis were particularly welcome having not featured for a long time.
The following bird types were on show: Norwich canary (15), Border canary (29), Gloster canary (39), New Colour canary (16), Fife canary (27), Lizard canary (4), Zebra finch (4), Budgerigar (10), British and Mules (19), Foreign (11).
Particular thanks to Freda, Pauline and Rose for putting on a great meal for the stewards, and to all who helped in erecting and dismantling the staging. A good show. ‘Best in Show’ went to Mr and Mrs K Grigg with a flighted yellow, cock Norwich.
A full list of class winners is set out below this selection of photographs taken on the day.
